Football building peace in Lebanon

Here's a nice story from Lebanon's The Daily Star, written by Cagil Kasapoglu, about how a Danish NGO called Cross Cultures Project Association (CCPA) hosts soccer festivals called "Open Fun Football schools" in contentious areas of battle-torn Lebanon, in an effort to bring kids and their families from many cultures together in a friendly and spirited social environment.

For a country whose playgrounds are still in shambles from the Lebanon War between Hezbollah and Israel, the thought of 8,000 people coming together each week to play soccer is encouraging.  And I love this quote from CCPA's Jens Juul Petersen:

"Football is our theme, because everybody likes football here in Lebanon."
