The Cutthroat Culture of Kids' Soccer

A Soccer Person who's had enough wrote this anonymous letter to

It's a well-written rant on a parent who knew nothing about soccer a few years ago and has come full soccer to see the ugly underbelly of competitive youth soccer- crazed parents.

I only wish he would've signed the letter.  The ultimate irony is that many of the tirading moms and dads who create the sometimes-toxic environment of U.S. club soccer have never played the game, barely watched the game (other than their kids), and in general know nowhere near enough that would warrant their harsh critique of childs' play.

That all may change when another generation or two of US youth soccer players grow up and become parents- but hopefully they've picked up something about sportsmanship, too.
